We will send a card to inform the honouree of your donation in their name to the Murphy Centre and send you an acknowledgement along with a charitable tax receipt for your donation.
Direct your Donation
Your gift may be designated to an area, project, or program of particular interest to you, or simply to the Murphy Centre General Fund in support of the current high priority needs of the organization.
Donate Gifts In-Kind
Gifts-in-kind are most appreciated! We used donated prizes for our various events, and can issue a tax receipt if the prize is accompanied with an official invoice. In some instances, an independent appraisal verifying the value is required for a tax receipt to be issued.
Make a Planned Gift
Making a planned gift can provide you with immediate or delayed tax relief, and can help reduce the amount of income tax paid by your estate. Planned gifts are usually major gifts made from capital assets rather than from income. They can include immediate gifts such as cash, bonds, stocks, real estate, life insurance cash value or objects of art. Deferred gifts such as bequests, trusts, life insurance policies, remainder interests and gift annuities may be made through a planned giving initiative. Official tax receipts will be issued for the value of a planned gift. Tax benefits to the donor or the estate can be quite significant. For example, gifts of publicly traded securities attract half of the capital gains tax otherwise payable if sold outright and the cash proceeds donated.
